My Entry For The American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Design Challenge!

For the second year, ANW and SB Nation held the American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Design Challenge; a contest where viewers submit their own designs for possible obstacles to be used on season 10 of the show! The obstacles for season 9 were overall really good so for this year, I decided to throw my hat into the ring by submitting two obstacle designs. Will the ANW crew be interested in either the Monorail or the Sands of Time? We'll have to wait and see.

...Right?

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Las Vegas Stage 1, Part 2

It's (still) finally here! The second half of Stage 1 has aired and William has thoughts about YouTube, Facebook, wrestling, and occasionally some Ninja Warrior stuff! Who knows what will happen!

Also, did you hear that Kacy was retiring?! Why didn't ANW tell us this fact every waking moment the show was airing? How else would I know it was going to happen?

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Denver Finals

It's the final regional finals course! And the Wedge is back! Those guys are so screwed! Join William as he talks about ninjas like Ian Dory, Brian Arnold (and his nose), Megan Martin, and Lorin Ball. Also, is it really appropriate for an obstacle to be sponsored?

Also, Ian Dory makes great faces while on the Wedge, you should watch his run solely for that.

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Kansas City Finals

So. Kansas City. That happened. I guess we should discuss what went down. You know, it's very important to talk about these things.

You know, sometimes these things happen. Sometimes the Broken Pipes prove to be a challenging obstacle. Sometimes people make mistakes on the Iron Maiden. And sometimes people just have difficulty cranking it.

...up. Cranking It Up. That's what I meant.

Oh yea, there were no finishers this episode. Oh well. No big deal.

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Cleveland Finals

It's the Cleveland Finals! With Jesse Labreck! And Jamie Rahn! And Najee Richardson! And Joe Moravsky! And a terrible f****** obstacle that ruined the whole thing!

I'm getting impatient with ANW. What should have been a great episode on paper left me confused and bored. ANW needs a change and it needs to come quickly.

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Daytona Beach Finals

The Daytona Beach Finals are in the books, and one ninja sped his way to the finish line! We get introduced to some giant cubes that aren't actually cubes and witness how challenging (and potentially dangerous) the Elevator Climb is.

Also, Jessie Graff does the splits, Sean Darling-Hammond becomes the nicest guy ever, and a bunch of my favorites get fast forwarded again!

Wednesday, August 2, 2017

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: San Antonio Finals

I hate the Hourglass Drop. It's a bad obstacle and I hate that ANW still insists on using it.

Anyway, it's now time to talk about the San Antonio Regional Finals of American Ninja Warrior, which featured a really cool obstacle called the Spinball Wizard. Shame we didn't get to see much of it. Oh well.

Anyway, this episode had some great performances from Daniel Gil, Barclay Stocket, Karsten Williams, Thomas Stillings, and Brent Steffensen. And Kacy Catanzaro put on her best performance in years. Also, a miracle happened; Nicholas Coolridge actually got airtime!

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Los Angeles Finals

The regional finals have begun! And it started on a high note, no less! Join William as he discusses the Los Angeles regional finals featuring the debut of the Elevator Climb and the return of the Stair Hopper!

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Cleveland Qualifiers

Okay, American Ninja Warrior. You got me. You win this time. I watched the Cleveland Qualifiers and I honestly enjoyed it more than most people expected me to. You know that one part? I liked it. I liked all of it.

So join me as I discuss Jessie LaBrek, Allyssa Beird, Mike Bernardo, Joe Moravsky, the Heartbreaker, weird editing mistakes, ANW Fantasy, and much more!

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Kansas City Qualifiers

The Kansas City Qualifiers have aired and William has some thoughts! Three new obstacles are introduced, but only two of them were any good. Lance Pekus finds redemption while Brandon Mears and Maggi Thorne put on some of their best performances to date.

Also, it was a good night for the Sasuke Maniacs Forum. Not only was the winner of the obstacle contest an SMF member (he designed Crank It Up) but two SMF members reached the top 30! Unfortunately, they didn't make TV this episode, but still! Go SMF!

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: Daytona Beach Qualifiers

Episode 3 of American Ninja Warrior 9 has aired and this time the competitors ran the course on the Daytona International Speedway! Even though the course included the difficult and time consuming Rolling Thunder, one ninja* was able to zoom pass the competition!

Also, William discusses the awesome Wing Nuts, the questionable Rolling Pin, Jessie Graff's run, some devastating fails, and why you should tint your plexiglass. A lot to discuss in this one!

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

American Ninja Warrior 9 Review: San Antonio Qualifiers

The San Antonio qualifier has aired, featuring a bunch of local ninjas, including a few NBC never bothered to show us! William discusses the new Sky Hooks and discovers his biggest issue with the profile pieces.

Also, did you know Kacy Catanzaro was on this episode? I feel like ANW never mentioned it to us. At least Barclay Stocket was given a chance to shine.
