I'm Buying Kid Icarus: Uprising Tomorrow

One year ago, I made the decision to purchase a Nintendo 3DS. One of my concerns for the system out of the gate was the obvious lack of big name exclusive titles. When the system’s biggest launch title is a 3D port of Super Street Fighter IV, the concerns over the system’s future were more than justified. However, I was buying the 3DS based on the promise that bigger and better games would be releasing in the future. Specifically, I was buying the system at the time solely for one game. That game was Kid Icarus: Uprising.

E3 2011: Nintendo Press Conference Impressions

It’s a known fact that I’m a Nintendo fan. While I enjoy their games the most, I have no problem being critical if they do something I don’t like. Heading into the press conference, everyone had one question on their minds: what is Project Café? And while Nintendo did answer that question, they created much, MUCH more questions in its place.

The press conference opened with a Legend of Zelda orchestra playing a montage of Zelda themes. Overall, it was a great way to start the show. It was very entertaining and got everyone excited for the press conference. Turns out it wasn’t just for show as Shigeru Miyamoto announced that there would be a Zelda symphony tour in all regions of the world this fall. The tour is part of a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series.

Looks Like I'm Getting A Nintendo 3DS

Earlier this week I decided to go to Game Stop and preorder a Nintendo 3DS. Despite the fact I am a big Nintendo fan, I was actually very much undecided if I actually wanted to buy one right away. Ever since it was showed off at E3 I was ready to buy it day one. However, between then and now two big problems with the 3DS arose.

First off, the launch list for the 3DS is really weak. I still have no idea what game I’m going to get. Right now, I’m thinking of getting either Pilotwings Resort or Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. If I’m feeling adventurous, I might buy Dead or Alive Dimensions or Samurai Warriors Chronicles. The only problem is that I’m not very good at fighting games. On the bright side, I do enjoy playing fighting games regardless.
